Interior Design Process

Step One: First Meeting

It all starts with a conversation. Send an email, or give us a call and we’ll discuss your project, design desires, timeline, and budget. Our first conversation is about mutually deciding if we’d like to work together. We’ll introduce you to our company and philosophy and address any questions or concerns you may have.

Step Two: Survey and Agreement

We’ll meet either in the studio to review plans or in your home to determine the scope of the project. Next, we’ll review both the function that the home needs to fulfill for you as well as your preferred design style. If your project is a new home build or total remodel, we’ll also meet with your architect or builder. This is the point where we will begin to discuss color scheme and materials choices. Once finished, we’ll have a well-defined scope of work and a cost estimate for design fees, which will be given to you at this time.

Step Three: Design Plan and Presentation

We’ll meet with you at our studio to present our design concept using a combination of 3D modeling, floor plans for furnishings placement and elevation renderings to help you see our creative vision. Doing so allows us to show you the computer generated conceptual “after” images, fabric, paint, and samples of other materials we recommend. Depending on the scope of the project we’re working on together, this phase will consist of either one presentation or multiple meetings. Next, the design is tweaked and/or approved into a final design plan that takes the form of a binder that’s used to facilitate communication between all the trades who will participate in bringing your dreams into reality.

Step Four: Implementation

Once you’ve approved the final design, we begin the process of ordering your materials and furnishings and ensure that all work is scheduled. Our team manages all the logistical concerns of bringing custom goods to the islands so that you can relax and put your mind at ease. For new a build or renovation, this is the time when the team at Lagnappe is working behind the scenes to ensure all of your goods arrive on time and are available for your builder. We are available to answer any questions and check in on your project site as needed.

Step Five: White Glove Installation

We oversee the white glove installation of everything for you. Our concierge level services allow clients who are not in residence during the time that the work is going on to simply return with a suitcase and fall in love with their new space. A room isn’t completed until it’s been accessorized and filled with meaningful pieces. We install this final layer with an eye toward surprising and delighting our clients. Our installers are available for art and window treatment installation as well as other personal items as needed.
